Rapsody keeps the promotion coming from her solo mixtape, She Got Game, but she gives the fans some behind the scenes visuals. The visuals are from her Khrysis produced “Thank You Very Much” which is one of my favorites on the mixtape, so i’m glad to see visuals to accompany the record. Shot In Harlem, Rapsody recruits director Brian Petchers behind the lens for the upcoming visual. The official video is set to drop on Wednesday.

Jamla’s own Rapsody has been promoting her latest project, She Got Game, but between promotion and rocking shows, she releases something new. Utilizing Pusha T’s “Numbers On The Board”, as the backdrop, Rapsody continues to prove lyrically she’s one of most elite emcees out today. She floated all over this one, also it’s rare to hear Rapsody over an industry instrumental. We want to hear more, sounds great.
Listen to “Murder By Numbers” after the break.
While in NYC, Jamla’s own Rapsody stops by “The Hot Box” with DJ Enuff. The two discuss about her follow up to her debut album The Idea Of Beautiful, shooting videos for her latest mixtape, She Got Game. Rapsody also shares her in studio experiences with 9th Wonder and Kendrick Lamar. Rapsody also gets an exclusive beat from 9th Wonder and freestyles exclusively on air as well. Also she gives a performance of the latest single “Dark Knights” which is produced by E. Jones.
“What I’ve learned from 9th and watching Kendrick is to be yourself,” Rapsody said. “And creating your fan base and sticking with your people is what keeps you around. You know? There are no rules in this. You write your own story. So, just that and being more personal. Making music that someone can connect with versus just rhyming. Like ‘Aw, that’s a dope rhyme. That’s a dope cadence. But I got this story.’ And it’s like ‘Wow, I can relate to that.’ Or ‘This beat makes me feel this kind of emotion that makes me think of this memory.’ Like putting all of that feeling into music and connecting with people.”

So, this might be the best release so far from the leaks that were released so far. Today Jamla releases a brand new record from Pete Rock, Lecrae & Rapsody entitled “Be Inspired”. Once again Khrysis proves why he’s one of the greatest producers out right now. Stream the record below and be sure to check out Jamla Is The Squad compilation project which drops on January 28th. Hosted by Statik Selektah.
As the upcoming release date next month slowly approaches for the Statik Skeltah hosted Jamla Is The Squad compilation, 9th & Rapsody release something new for the fans. After “Betty Shabazz” was released, Rapsody still had me rocking to that record, but this “Illuminaughty(Chinchilla)” is something serious. Listen below as Rapsody continues to murder mics and emcees in her path.
Just a few days after releasing her “Dark Knight” video, female Hip Hop emcee Rapsody just dropped a new track titled, “Betty Shabazz” which is expected to be on Jamla Is The Squad – the upcoming Jamla compilation project hosted by Statik Selektah. The release date for Jamla Is The Squad is set for January 28th.
Still riding on the success of her latest project, She Got Game. Rapsody releases the official video for the track “Dark Knight”. Rapsody dresses up as the Joker in the latest Kenneth Price directed clip. The song originally features a verse from Wale, but Rap plays solo in the video. Gotta love the fact that she is incorporating some parts from the feature film and paying homage for the movie. Produced by E. Jones.

Durham’s own Mark Steele recently released his mixtape, Empty Auditorium but he gave 2DBZ the premiere of the track “Memory Bank”. The track features Jamla’s own Rapsody, and is produced by Mike Bannon.
