Since the Beauty & The Beast EP was released back on October, it has been in constant rotation in my headphones. The North Carolina EMCEE has chosen the next single “The Man” from her latest EP. Produced by Eric G, Rapsody definitely delivers very heartfelt verses while Eric provides the soulful backdrop. That’s the lovely Heather V on the chorus as well.
Here’s what Rapsody had to say about her latest single.
I wrote this song as a dedication to all the boys growing up without fathers who now have to try and fill those big shoes. I wanted to tell the story of how they have to grow up fast, lose their innocence so young, and the damage it does (no matter your race). The interlude that follows deals with racism, and how people of color have to have these tough conversations with their children that others parents don’t. It’s hard to explain to a five year old that because of the color of their skin, they will be treated differently. But, that’s a reality for us.

To tie in with the release of her Beauty & The Beast EP which hit iTunes today Jamla’s very own Rapsody releases the official visuals for the Khrysis produced ‘Drama’.
Before the anticipated EP, Beauty and The Beast is released at 12 am. Rapsody decides to release some unreleased visuals for her She Got Game mixtape featured track “Lonely Thoughts”.
On Tuesday, Jamla Records own first lady Rapsody will release the anticipated EP titled, Beauty And The Beast. The 10 track extended play was mixed by Young Guru, and will contain features from Heather Victoria, Problem, and Jadon Green. As always with each release from Jamla, the production duties will be handled by The Soul Council. October 7th the wait will be over.
After releasing a pretty dope freestyle over Q’s “Hoover Street”. Rapsody releases the first taste off her forthcoming Beauty and The Beast, set to be released October 7th. The first single is titled “Hard To Choose” which is produced by 9th Wonder. 9th & Rap are a always made for a great collab.
It’s been a little while since we heard from Rapsody but today she returns with a freestyle over ScHoolboy Q’s ‘Hoover Street’. Beast mode.
Out of nowhere, Rapsody releases the official video for one of the standout records “Betty Shabazz”. The 9th Wonder produced record can be found on the Jamla Record’s compilation album, Jamla Is The Squad. Half way through video it cuts to her “Illuminaughty(Chinchilla)” which features a cameo from Duke’s own Jabari Parker.
Rapsody is currently on tour out of the country, and yesterday the XXL Freshman list was also released. We thought Rap Diddy had a great chance being on the list, but unfortunately the Carolina emcee wasn’t selected. Today, she releases a brand new track “Roses” which she spazzes all over the Khrysis produced record.
