Today is June 24th, 2014 and Jamla Records signee GQ has released his highly anticipated album, Rated Oakland. The fourteen track album gives GQ the zone to go as he gives us an insight through his city of Oakland, California. Been listening to this all morning, and I’ve got to say this is a great album. Features on the album includes Nipsey Hussle, Problem, Badd Lucc, Rapper Big Pooh, HaLo, Heather Victoria, and more. As with majority of the Jamla Records releases, they are produced by the Soul Council. Along with production from other Soul Council producers (9th Wonder, Khrysis, E. Jones, Ka$h), Sinopsis, The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Eric G handles most of the 14 records on the album.

GQ feat. Heather Victoria – Walk On By (prod. Khrysis)

jamla-is-the-squad

After releasing the absolute fire track “No Competition“, Jamla Records shows no signs of slowing down. Today, they release a brand new track entitled “Walk On By” which features GQ and Heather Victoria. Khrysis is on the boards once again with this one. The Jamla songbird does a great job on this one, while the Oakland CA emcee handles the rhymes. GQ is dope, y’all need to stop sleeping. January 28th is the release date, Jamla Is The Squad.

Get In The Game: Rapsody & GQ Freestyle On “Sway In The Morning” (Video)

That Jamla Records team stay making moves. Big Moves. A couple of days ago, Rapsody, GQ & 9th Wonder stopped by “Sway in the Morning”. After talking about her upcoming mixtape with DJ Drama entitled She Got Game, Rapsody spit a couple of bars and let me tell you, nothing but flames as always. GQ took to the mic after Rapsody and freestyled off the dome for Sway (which is from the same hometown as GQ Oakland). Be on the lookout for She Got Game to drop August 20th, 2013, and GQ’s album to drop later this year.

GQ – Get Fly (prod. Khrysis)

Today is Wednesday and the “Summer Of Jamla” continues on over at DJ Booth and with the good folks of Jamla records. Here’s a brand new release from Oakland’s own GQ entitled “Get Fly”. Although he has a great project with his Death Threats & Love Notes, it’s always great to hear new music from GQ. The track is produced by Khrysis and those spacey sounds though.
