Been a little while since Frank Ocean has released any music. Today, Converse’s Three Artists. One Song series starts off with some new Frank Ocean tunes entitled “Hero”. The choir on the record takes this Diplo, Mick Jones & Paul Simonon featured single to another level. The additional vocals are from the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir. I’m really digging this one.
The Clash were always teachers to me, even before I shared a studio with Paul and Mick. Their musical anarchy and constant attitude to disregard rules and forge their own path was inspirational to me. They meant death to genres, music and message above everything. Frank lives by the same creed in being married to his vision and seeing it through at any cost. We had to challenge each other to make something that we hope no one could expect and Converse valued everyone’s artistic freedom to let us shine throughout the past few months to make this thing happen.
Check out the single after the jump.
After appearing on Frank Ocean’s album, John Mayer gets Frank for his latest offering from his new album Paradise Valley.
Frank Ocean who’s been working on his sophomore album, releases a video for one of my least favorite records “Lost” off his debut album, Channel Orange. Not too much going on in the video except for a lot of tour footage, performance footage and more. Check down bottom for the video.
After revealing to us that he’s 10-11 songs deep into sophomore album, here’s a unreleased record from the two time Grammy Award winner Frank Ocean. The song is called “Eyes Like Sky.” According to the email this may be a leftover from the channel ORANGE recording sessions. Sounds more like a demo to us. Anyways, listen below.
While Channel Orange is still being played around these parts, Frank Ocean is currently in the UK on tour and stopped by Zane Lowe’s show on BBC Radio 1. Frank Ocean says he is planning on working on the upcoming album in Bora Bora. Also the “Forrest Gump,” singer talks about being 10-11 songs into next album, and possibly touring this summer. We can’t wait to hear what he’s cooked up with Pharrell once again since the pair were in the studio yesterday. Listen to the 28 minute interview down below.
While we wait for the “Thinkin Bout You,” singer forthcoming video for “Forrest Gump.” Today, his debut studio album, Channel Orange has surpassed 500k copies. The album has been certified Gold by the RIAA. Also Frank Ocean is up for “Best New Album” and “Record of the Year” for his single “Thinkin ‘Bout You.”
Congrats to Frank Ocean.
With the Grammy nominated album channel ORANGE, still getting spins on my iTunes. Frank Ocean has begun shooting the video for his next single, “Forrest Gump.” Not sure where the video is being shot at, but Frank Ocean gathers up the homies and some cheerleaders for this video. I’m glad he’s shooting a video for this track, it’s one of my personal favorites.
More flicks after the jump.
As he promised. One of my favorite records from Frank Ocean’s debut album, Channel Orange gets a remix from ATLien’s own Big Boi. The song originally features his Outkast member Andre 3000. Tags for now, but hopefully Elliott will release the CDQ soon.
Update: That was quick. CDQ from RR.
Update 2: Now with official artwork & CDQ /No Tags/Dirty version.
