The duo of dead prez have always been on the forefront of socially conscious Hip-Hop. Over time, the two have branched of with independent projects of their own, though they have individually stayed with the same narrative in their music. Most recently, Mutulu took his organizational expertise overseas to create the ‘Very Important Politics’(VIP) EP produced by Italian producer Bonnot. The premier track from this international offering is “Sacrifice”, a Hail Mary call to all soldiers in the struggle for Freedom, Justice, and Equality at home and abroad. In lieu of the recent police killings of unarmed Black men around the country and the global response to the grand jury decisions, M and RBG affiliate Divine present raw footage of guerrilla activism at work in the visual of this very timely release. The VIP EP is slated for release next year.

A couple of days ago, the duo released the third single “Dressed To Kill” accompanied with a visual.
