Last night on the new season and very first episode of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” features the always unpredictable DMX. Iyanla traveled to the place where it all started for X, Yonkers NY. The episode featured his “wife” Tashera Simmons, his son Xavier, and Vanzant. Check out the full episode after the jump.

The next 90 minutes is not about a multiplatinum selling Hip-Hop artist or a celebrity. It’s about a deeply wounded man in a lot of pain. This show, is about the ravages of a longterm drug problem,” said Vanzant at the start of the segment. “I often say, I am not my brothers keeper, I am my brother. Earl Simmons, also known as DMX is my brother. He’s our brother. Earl, I pray you are watching, I support you, and I call forth your healing.”

MTV Hottest MCs In The Game #1: Kendrick Lamar

Over the course of a week we have had rants, diss records, and now MTV has announced their number one pick for their 2013 “Hottest MCs In The Game”. MTV has chosen Kendrick Lamar and deemed the Compton emcee as this years “Hottest MCs In The Game”. His debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city surpassed everyone’s expectations, surprised non believers, and made a fan out of each and every hip hop artist.

Congrats to TDE/Interscope/Aftermath. Great job Kendrick!

Full List:#10: Meek Mill | #9 Future| #8 A$AP Rocky | #7 Kanye West | #6: Big Sean | #5: Drake | #4: Nas | #3: Rick Ross | #2: 2 Chainz

Released in October on Interscope by Top Dawg Entertainment and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment, the LP earned Kendrick a gold plaque before 2012 was over and is making its way toward platinum status with more than 700,000 units sold to date. The Drake-assisted “Poetic Justice” just crept into the Billboard’s top 10 on the Rap charts, while his platinum-selling commentary on alcoholism, “Swimming Pools (Drank),” hit #1 on the Rap Songs chart. “Every time you listen to the album you get something new. I was worried that he was such a great lyricist that that wouldn’t translate to sales and then he blew it out of the water,” said RapFix Blog Editor Nadeska Alexis.

After the jump, celebrating his number one deemed seat as the MTV’s Hottest MCs In The Game, Kendrick performs “Poetic Justice”.

MTV Hottest MCs In The Game #2: 2 Chainz

>

MTV has announced the last two spots on their MTV “Hottest MCs In The Game” list. His debut album surpassed Gold status and he’s been featured on countless records and more. We think he deserve this spot.

“He goes from Tity Boi to 2 Chainz, basically reinventing himself,” MTV News’ Managing Editor Rebecca Thomas noted. “Suddenly, we find him not only as the honorary G.O.O.D. Music member, but then he put out B.O.A.T.S., and on that album are songs that carried 2012, from ‘Birthday Song’ to ‘I’m Different,’ to ‘No Lie.’ “

MTV Hottest MCs In The Game #5: Drake

Do we agree with this or should be just go through the motions. Anyways, Aubrey has been killing records on the feature side especially with “No Lie”, “HYFR”, but we don’t think he deserves the fifth spot. Anyways, that’s just Ace talking.

Apart from impacting with songs like “HYFR,” Drake’s hooks and verses for other artists, including the #1 rap singles “No Lie,” reverberated during a year when Y.O.L.O. was still running its course. “Drake’s at the point where his lyrics become people’s mantras,” said Renaud Jean-Baptiste, story producer for MTV2′s “The Week in Jams.” “He just steers the direction of the culture — lyrically and style-wise.”

MTV Hottest MCs In The Game #7: Kanye West

At numero seven, Kanye West appears on this year’s MTV Hottest MCs In The Game list. Let’s see what makes him at #7, with no solo efforts but maybe it’s the rants, we’re not sure. MTV gives us a reasoning for this number seven spot.

In 2012, Yeezy hit the stage to embark on the European leg of his Watch the Throne Tour with partner Jay-Z. He also showed off his in-studio expertise with tracks like G.O.O.D’s double-platinum, #1 rap hit “Mercy,” the venomous “Cold” and the top-five hit “Clique,” proving he could deliver on our criteria for sales.

MTV Hottest MCs In The Game #8: A$AP Rocky

Totally disagree with this ranking. Not saying i’m a big fan of A$AP Rocky, but at number 8 he deserves a higher spot based on the success of “F**kin Problems.” We’re not in the position to make the calls, but here’s what MTV journalists had to say.

MTV story producer Steven Roberts chimed in to “reluctantly agree with” Jean-Baptiste, saying, “If you do listen to that album, other people outshine him,” citing “Problems” and “1 Train” as examples. This opposition ultimately set the stage for the previously eighth-ranked Big Sean to take the #7 spot, with Rocky holding strong at #8, ahead of Meek Mill (10) and Future (9).

MTV Hottest MCs In The Game #10: Meek Mill

We warned you that the 2013 MTV Hottest MCs In The Game was about to start this Sunday. Today, MTV has chosen Philly’s own Meek Mill as the #10 “Hottest MCs In The Game.”

Just over a month later, MMG dropped their Self Made Vol. 2 album, which found the Philadelphia rapper spitting hard on tracks like the eight-minute posse cut “Power Circle.” His audience was primed and ready for Meek’s debut, which finally dropped in October, debuting at #2 with 165,000 copies sold.
